GETTING THE VIDEO'S TO WORK?

Number one Make sure you are using the Appropriate Video Player for the video that you are trying to View.

What is this you ask?

Well after every file name is a designation.  The basic ones for Video's are .mpg, .mpeg, .mov, .avi, .wmv, .rm

For a .mov extension you will need Quicktime Player

For a .rm extension you will need a RealPlayer

The rest will play on a varity of Players (.mpg, .mpeg, .avi, .wmv.)

I personally use WINAMP.

 I find it is much better than the Windows Media Player offered by Microsoft.  And ALL the corresponding files do play on winamp because that is what I play them on.  

Although  they do also play on Windows Media Player.

They will also play on the DIVX player.

Make sure you have the most recent player available for your computer.  It increases you chances of getting the files to play.




CODECS?  WHAT THE HELL ARE CODECS?

This is how the video was encoded so your computer can read it.

I usually get the most recent video codecs and try to keep on top of the most recent.

If your video freezes and the sound is still playing but that is it.  You probably need a anti-freeze codecs.  I install the Free Divx Player.  It takes care of that problem.

I install this codec bundle and i've never had a problem.
